Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on Jan. 19. 1946 to a low-income family, with twelve kids at one point, realized that she could get away from the hardships of her life by using a vivid imagination. The songs she wrote were composed before she was able to write or read. After getting her first guitar at age 8, she started to play on radio stations in Knoxville, Tennessee. The that same time, Gold Band Records was a small independent record label. Although she was in school, she had established a name for herself within the local arena. But her dream was to to make music on a bigger level. In 1964, the day following her graduation from high-school the singer moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. In the year 1967, Porter Wagoner was looking for a new girl singer for his television show that was syndicated. Parton was signed to RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She was hired in the year 1967. In 1974, she quit Wagoner's show due to the commercial success of her solo songs like Joshua Coats Of Many Colors or Jolene was outstripping their joint releases. Following their breakup, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it climbed to Number. In 1974, the song by Parton"I Will Always Love You" reached No.
