Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She's the co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well being the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington has been a TV host, journalist as well as a philanthropist, author and journalist for more than 10 years. She is also the owner of The Huffington Post, an independently-liberal online newsmagazine. Her move to Greece to England aged 16 where she obtained a MA in Economics from Cambridge University in Economics. The first ever foreign-born student to be elected president in the famous debate group The Cambridge Union, at age 21 she took on the role. After graduation she made her name as a conservative syndicated columnist and, with the launching of The Huffington Post' few years later, she launched an online voice portal which offered critical observations on the political scenario. Arianna was able to attract several prominent contributors who posted their thoughts on culture and politics. Arianna became famous in 2003 after she decided to run independently for the California recall election in order to succeed the Governor Davis. Additionally, she was involved in an initiative in Detroit that promoted cars that are fuel efficient. Forbes named her as 12th on their list of the Top Influential Media Women. Guardian also included the Huffington Post on their Top 100 list in 2010. AOL, Inc. appointed her President of their media company in 2011, after they acquired The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post was joined by the other AOL brands like Engadget, AOLmusic Style list and Patch Media. She was born to a journalist and management consultant Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. Her life was shaped by the closeness she had to her mother and her bond with her father despite being extremely close to him. From her early years, she displayed leadership qualities which are still widely admired. When she was 16 years old her family moved in her home in United Kingdom for her higher education. At Girton College Cambridge. During her college days she joined the college debating Society Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign and third female president. She graduated in 1972 with a Master's Degree in Economics. The career of an anchor and reporter was born after graduation. Alongside Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
